The Grayverse

Order of Reapers

NEW RELEASE

Six years ago, the tightly-coiled barrier between the supernatural world and our own collapsed.
Nothing since has been the same, least of all me.

My name is Mareena, and for as long as I can remember, nearly every person I've grown close to has met with an early demise: my parents, extended family, first boyfriend, first girlfriend...Look, you get the idea. We'll be here all day if I lay the full list out for you.
I guess just be thankful I've never had a pet.

My solution to this meddlesome curse: Let no one close.
(Other than my equally meddlesome best friend, who rejects my every attempt to push her away.)

And curse or not, I've managed to build a pretty comfortable life, all things considered.
I have a home, a job, and a small community that I care about. Things I've fought tooth and nail to get—and protect.
My plan was supposed to be simple. Easy. Or so I thought. Simplicity flew out the window with The Undoing.

Armed with my best friend, a crow that's set up permanent residence in our apartment (to be clear, absolutely *not* a pet—he's a freaking menace), and the increasingly terrifying visions I've been getting, I have to find a way to survive in this strange new world.

But try as I might to protect my small world from death's embrace, death comes calling anyway—in the form of two mysterious men that only I seem able to see. They wait on the sidelines, eager to pull me towards my destiny. Whether I'm ready for it or not.

Don't worry.
Death may be relentless, but so am I.

In the shadows of the human world, a secret society of demon hunters fights to keep humanity from the supernatural forces that threaten to tear it apart.

But for Max Bentley, a rookie hunter struggling to find her place amongst her kind, the biggest threat might just be the four brooding, enigmatic members of the most elite team of hunters - all of whom seem to have taken a special, antagonistic interest in her.

She quickly discovers that their past is as dark and complicated as her own. As she is drawn deeper into the mysterious world of demon hunting, she finds herself torn between her duty to her people and her growing attraction to her team.
It's more than her heart on the line, it's the very fabric of our world.

Content Warnings

The Protector Guild Series:

Graphic violence, torture scenes, description of injury/blood, light blood play, character death, grief/trauma, depictions of depression, PTSD, and anxiety. On-page sex.

Please also note that the audiobook for Academy of Protectors (book one) has brief references to HP. Max’s world and personality were built around the media she consumed, so there are a lot of pop culture references in the first few books before she solidifies her identity/sense of self. This earlier book was written before I was aware of JKR’s violent work against trans communities. Since learning about her hateful work, I removed these mentions from the e-book and paperback editions long ago, as soon as I noticed them. That said, I no longer own the audiobook rights to this series. I am in conversation with my publishing company to have them scrubbed, however this is a long process and will take time.

Saving the Protector

His job was to keep her safe. Now, he just wants to keep her.

Charlie moved to The Lodge to run away from the demons of her past. And, for the most part, she's succeeded in building a peaceful life in a small town, only letting her dark memories confront her once a year during the holiday season. But everything changes when she learns that some demons are literal, and that the monsters she's spent a lifetime reading about exist beyond the margins of a book.

Bishop screwed up. With instructions to hunt down a vampire, he and his teammate end up stranded at a small, mountainside resort instead, waiting out a bad winter storm. But the location isn't as quiet and peaceful as it seems, and the monster he's after might be closer than he realized. Determined to protect a human woman, with a past as haunted as his own, he sticks around for a few days. The problem? He might never want to leave.
